Dam this is beautiful! Sounds so natural, good work!

AshleyAlyse responds:

Thank you so much! So happy you think so! :)

wow man this is beautiful, you certainly are an excellent pianist and you improvisational skills are very good. I always love the reverbs you use, they complement the piano so well. I love the way you transition into the bass arpeggios at about 2:45. Though it may be a repetetive melody, the way you vary it throughout the piece makes the repetition hardly noticable, like adding ornaments, arpeggios, going up octaves, changing to triplets and even going into a minor section at around 5:00. Once again mate outstanding work and keep it up.

What you have here is a really beautiful piece and I think maybe you should work out what sections you like the most and structure it into a shorter piece. It doesn't need to be 17 minutes long but I understand that it's an improvisation so you loose track of time being in the moment and keeping flow etc.

LucidShadowDreamer responds:

I'm glad you like the reverbs I use :D (I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing).
I'm also pleased to see you liked the variation in the way I was playing too!

"I think maybe you should work out what sections you like the most and structure it into a shorter piece."

=> Yes, I've tought about doing this before, but I've never got to it. I will do that sometime though, since 17 minutes is faaaaaar to long for the avarage person's attention span :p

Thanks a lot dude, I'll do my best to keep it up! :')

haha brilliant!! happy birthday for yesterday man, sorry it's late

LucidShadowDreamer responds:

Haha, thanks!
No problem for being late; I was far more late to reviewing your track earlier :D

dammm son this is heavy, let me know when it's finished

djhoohaa responds:

Will do

try control those frequencies a bit more!! I really like your kick, it's nice and punchy however i feel the bass is too muddy and the strange high lead is a bit harsh, I felt the structure could of been a bit better musically, maybe changing the chord progression every now and then. It's nice that you introduced lots of different synths throughout the piece and I love that surprise drop at around 2:53. The way you detuned that synth was cool but I think you could've made it much better by changing the chord progression and melodies at that point, giving it more impact. The rhythmic changes were a nice touch but wasn't enough for me. One thing that bugged me was the noise sweep drowning out the rest of your instruments. Overall it's a cool track though I think it could've benefited with more thoughtful EQ and dynamic processing and a bit more variation melodically. I'd say try not to boost the bass and highs too much.

Cacola responds:

Thanks for the review!
Mixing has always been something I have trouble with, I'll watch some tutorials in the future. I'll also try to make my song less repetitive.

I like the use of noise sound for the percussion and thought the melodies were sweet and beautiful, however I felt it lacked experimentation seeing as it's an experimental piece. I liked when the progression changed towards the end of the piece. It turned the dream like sounds into more of a nightmare and the transition was nice. It would've been nice if you progressed more on the track, adding more instrumentation as the track develops seeing as it seems pretty minimalistic overall good work though

SoulSecure responds:

I want it to be minimalistic in nature. Whenever I try to add more it just doesn't work for me, ya dig?

Also, experimental is more so the genre rather than the method. I used to put all my stuff under miscellaneous, but I think that's for random crap now. :\

Thank you for your review!

this is some good house!

Beautiful atmosphere, love the chromatic notes you use every now and then. good job!

beautiful work mate, everythings crisp and clear and the stereo positioning is well thought out. What reverb did you use? it sounds so nice, really compliments the synth. I feel the track would of done better with a deep sub bass to really drive the track. similar to Occults "Lost Time" remix. it seems like you have a lot of space in your mix for those sub frequenies. I love the progression and the melodies and all together sounds amazing.

Aturax responds:

Thank you man, your compliments are much appreciated. I will have to check out that remix :)

although its not my style of music its still nice work, you did a very good job on the mix, I just feel the drop didnt have much impact (maybe use some crash cymbals) and your kick and snare/clap seem to lack presence.
